Today I am thankful for...

Welcome to my gratitude blog, which was formerly my 365 project (posts 5/30/10 - 5/30/11). I will continue posting 10 things for which I am grateful to help me (and maybe you too) stay positive.

Here's to optimism, gratitude, and all the simple pleasures of life :)

Picture frames & messages on my board

HAVEN’T BLOGGED FOR A WEEK. SO MANY THINGS HAPPENED.

I will get to the awesome classmate adventure to Santa Monica later… but for now I want to talk about today! Today was a beautiful day. I attended Mass at the San Fernando Mission for the last time, then studied with Sunshine, Power, and Viet Guy (Viet Girl couldn’t make it) at my apartment. After we lost our marbles, I cooked them breakfast food for dinner as a thank you for a wonderful summer and as our last hangout.

When we were done with dinner, Sunshine pulled out these adorable gift bags and handed one to each of us. She had made collages of all the things we did together this summer - Santa Monica, bowling, pool, lab, cooking together - and framed them. It was so sweet of her. I’ve never really met anyone so thoughtful and sweet like Sunshine. All of us were sitting in awe (and full of pancakes) of her beautiful gift. This was what it felt like to have someone touch your heart.

Later that night when I was packing, I saw Roommate writing on my white board.

“More math problems?” I asked.

“Yeah…” she replied.

I left to pack my pots and pans. When I came back, I found the sweetest doodle on my desk! I AM SO SAD TO BE LEAVING NORTHRIDGE. I AM GOING TO MISS EVERYONE SO MUCH.

Question 15: Your favorite LGBT quote.

“If a bullet should enter my brain, let that bullet destroy every closet door.” Harvey Milk

Question 16: A photograph of your first LGBT relationship or LGBT crush.

I don’t have a picture of my first LGBT crush. That would be creepy. I actually don’t really know why I liked her in the first place. She looked angry all the time. I had a crush on someone whom a friend called the “Angry Lesbian.” I ran into her on campus all the time, and there was always a scowl on her face. Other than that she looked quite nice. Lol.
