The Chinese bakery next to the laundromat
Wow, Flickr is still being a booger and I can’t upload any London pictures yet :( It was working so well earlier… Hopefully it will start working soon!
Today was pretty delicious. I finally walked into the Chinese bakery next to the laundromat today and got some buns and oolong cookies. I’m saving the buns for tomorrow, but I had the oolong cookies after dinner and they were great! Well, they tasted like shortbread cookies w/tea leaves sprinkled into them, but they were still delicious :P I saved a couple for the Private, who will be visiting tomorrow :3
Good news: I study really well at the laundromat.

Day 6: Did you face any problems regarding religion?
Oh. My. Goodness. Of course I did, especially being so involved in the Catholic church. I can tell you right now that I’m not on good terms with our current Pope. It’s the people, though, who make the church, not necessarily the people who “make” the rules.
There was a period of time when I questioned myself and the religion to which I claimed to belong. After having gone through the sacrament of Confirmation in high school, I felt weak questioning myself again a few years later. I was just getting involved with Newman, too.
It was actually an experience with Newman that changed my view of LGBT and Catholicism. When we went to LA Congress, I found an LGBT workshop and basically cried a river inside after I saw all the people in the church who cared and loved everyone equally. You can read about it here. It was just so inspiring and eye opening to be surrounded by Catholic allies. I felt at home, I felt okay, and I felt sure of calling myself a Christian. No one in that room was going to tell me that I was going to hell for the “lifestyle I chose.”
It also helps that Chaplain put up a giant rainbow flag in our chapel office. I love her.
