Feeling happy with the way things turned out
2011.
Four years of undergrad flew by of calling ourselves “class of 2011.” 2011 came, and we graduated with our Bachelor’s degrees and memories from the best years (so far) of our lives.
A year of stressing over admission into a DPT program for “Fall 2011” is done, thankfully.
When I hear “2011,” I automatically feel like I need to do something to prepare for something great - something on which my future depends. The pressure is let off a little bit (until 2013), and it’s nice to sit back and think about how awesome this year was. I got in. I finished my first semester with flying colors despite problems with a past relationship. I’ve overcome some obstacles and I don’t think I’ve ever felt so thankful to be my own person - free, happy, and ready to give my love to the whole world.
I hope that 2012 will be filled with valuable knowledge and experience that will benefit my future career as a PT, steps that bring me closer to God, music that creates a spark in our souls, and times that help us appreciate friends and family more than we already do.
Gratitude list for my awesome Christmas break:
- Fancy tea parties w/Lezzie & Fliceann
- Watching Hugo at the old theater w/Lezzie
- Picking up said hot date in my new car (more on this later)
- The Newman Nuclear Nacho reunion of a pharmacy, PT, and OT student (c/o 2013)
- Looking back on undergrad years w/CV & Q - open mic every week, ice cream cones left and right, and doing the Newman thing
- Busting out some Adele on the piano
- Setting up my recording studio in Sissy’s closet
- Hanging out w/my two oldest friends, Lezzie & Sasquatch, and making two new friends who are just as weird as we are
- Knowing that Lezzie has a very genuine and kind friend
- Best New Year’s Eve ever - devouring mountains of French toast, drawing secret messages with crayons, starring in dance-offs out of an 80’s movie, laughing until we cried, and having heart-to-hearts until 2am under the tree lights
