Pictures that make me smile

I’m going to tackle 2 LGBTQ questions today. It was interesting… When I saw #22, I immediately thought of Ellen and Portia’s wedding picture. Then when I saw #23, I thought, “I should Google some NOM pictures” (note to self: must type out entire phrase of National Organization for Marriage, unless I want a bunch of pictures of unbearably cute animals nomming on carrots).

I definitely found some images that made me angry, but there was one that just popped out! “Catholics for LGBT equality.” It was like.. HI THERE, why did it take me so long to find you?! The picture was from a group of people who were participating in a Day of Action against NOM’s tour stops in Minnesota.

It came from a blog called The Wild Reed: Thoughts and reflections from a progressive, gay, Catholic perspective. I’m really excited to have found this!

Okay, since we’re on the topic of NOM, I might as well answer the next question, which is coincidentally this:

Question 24: The stupidest argument/comment you’ve heard about gay people or an LGBT issue.

This is - I kid you not - an actual TV ad created by NOM. There are people who exist who believe what these people are saying (and they think we’re crazy).

I totally thought it was a joke, but it wasn’t :( If you do want to see a good one, watch this hilarious parody with some of my favorites, George Takei and Jane Lynch :D

  3. Moar hot chai tea (you can tell I’m going through a phase)
