Today I am thankful for...

Welcome to my gratitude blog, which was formerly my 365 project (posts 5/30/10 - 5/30/11). I will continue posting 10 things for which I am grateful to help me (and maybe you too) stay positive.

Here's to optimism, gratitude, and all the simple pleasures of life :)

Finishing my first semester of PT school STRONG!

Hi, friends. Haven’t seen you in a while.

Good news:

I finished finals for PT school, and assuming that a mad bull doesn’t break into the department office and jumble up my grades, I managed to pull off at least a 90% in six of my classes, and passed w/a B in the last one (of which no one was a fan). I’ve never been pushed so hard in school in my life, but I’ve also never felt so rewarded after all of it was over. Staying at the library/lab until 1 or 2am everyday during finals week = totally worth it. Marbles have been restored.

I’m still in disbelief that I’m done with an entire semester of PT school. This program is pretty good at finding that point where they push their students to almost kill them, but turn out educated and inquisitive future clinicians instead. Let’s say.. it builds character :P This whole “suffering together” mentality definitely brought my classmates closer together, though. I’m kidding; it really wasn’t that bad if you kept your eye on the ball. What we’re learning is finally relevant and can only help our future patients. My mind is still blown everyday when we find something new in our cadavers or I finally understand how the three planes of the foot/ankle work together.

So many awesome things happened since I last wrote. I had a good Thanksgiving with the family. I went to a music ministry workshop led by the inspiring Rawn Harbor with Newman. I’ve been singing and playing guitar at church. I’ve been studying with a better group and getting to know my classmates better. Last Friday (the day after my last final), I went home for my mom’s birthday for the first time in four years because PT/pharm school finished finals a week earlier than undergrad. It was nice :)

I’m just going to give fat lists to make up for lack of blogging and abundance of awesomeness :D
