Today I am thankful for...

Welcome to my gratitude blog, which was formerly my 365 project (posts 5/30/10 - 5/30/11). I will continue posting 10 things for which I am grateful to help me (and maybe you too) stay positive.

Here's to optimism, gratitude, and all the simple pleasures of life :)

Nutella and more Nutella

Life

is

difficult.

Last week I was so sleep deprived. This week isn’t looking too great either. I’m getting more sleep, but not as much work done. This week’s main difficulty is maintaining a relationship + grad school SIMULTANEOUSLY (like the opposite crutch and leg in a 2-point gait). I’ve exhausted my phone and my heart. After I finish bawling my eyes out, all I want to do is curl up in bed… but I force myself to study just a little bit more.

This past weekend was all about taking my personal life back - music, church, friends, and sleep. But having a manfriend (as my friend calls it) is always more difficult than I had thought it would be. I don’t mean it in a bad way; we just have to work really hard for something worthwhile. Everyone’s going through a rough time and sometimes we can’t lean on each other for support.

Well, this morning is off to a decent start. I showered, made coffee, and ate waffles with Nutella. Now my hair is soft, my blood is filled with caffeine, and my tummy is satiated with sweet chocolatey-hazelnutty goodness. I have some extra time before I peace out for another long day of school, so I figured I’d offer some gratitude this morning.

  1. Being able to get out of bed this morning (first challenge of the day)
  2. Feeling hot-hot-hot! in the shower
  3. My little ol’ coffeemaker keeping me alive
  4. Cafe Justo’s low-acidity coffee
  5. NUTELLA
  6. Spending more time w/Little
  7. CV offering me an ice pack for my hip (sudden random pain, anyone?)
  8. Getting a 98 on my group etiology paper (the “thought-we-finished-but-HOLY-CRAP-THERE’S-A-HUGE-PROBLEM-MUST-FIX-TILL-2AM” paper)
  9. A’s on exercise physio exam and anatomy quizzes
  10. Coffee keeping my brain alive, but Matt Nathanson keeping my heart alive
